We have developed high road strategies and solutions since our founding in 1990, providing both thought leadership and the avenues through which to implement these ideas. Below are just a few of the organizations that we helped found, develop, or seed over the years.
Through education, outreach, technical assistance, and research that is grounded in the priorities of local governments, and through bridge-building engagement with policy initiatives, UniverCity Alliance improves the places and lives of people throughout Wisconsin and the world.
UniverCity Alliance
UniverCity Alliance connects education, service and research activities across UW-Madison with cities, furthering the practice of sustainability. We work with over a dozen counties across Wisconsin.
UniverCity Year
UniverCity Year is a three-year partnership between UW-Madison and Wisconsin communities, focused on connecting communities with UW-Madison faculty, staff, and graduate students. Projects can address a wide range of issues such as sustainability, education, and health.
Emerald Cities Collaborative
Seeded as a High Road Strategy Center project, the Emerald Cities Collaborative is dedicated to create high-road local economies. Their local and national partners bring resources and expertise from the community, labor, business and government sectors.
EPIC-N
The EPIC Model unites the human capital of universities with local governments, and communities, to improve the quality of life and social wealth for all involved. High Road Strategy Center is a founding member.
State Innovation Exchange
Originally conceived at High Road Strategy Center as ALICE, the State Innovation Exchange (SiX) empowers and equips state legislators to build and wield progressive governing power by/with/for the people they represent.
WRTP
The Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership (WRTP) is a workforce intermediary dedicated to connecting people to family-sustaining jobs. Their mission is to enhance the ability of public and private sector organizations to recruit, develop, and retain a more diverse, qualified workforce in construction, manufacturing and emerging sectors of the regional economy.
Economic and Analysis Research Network
Economic and Analysis Research Network (EARN) is a nationwide network of research, policy, and advocacy organizations fighting, state by state, for an economy that works for everyone.
