Madeline Gotkowitz is a Hydrogeologist at the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey at UW Extension. Madeline’s work focuses on groundwater quality in urban areas, water quality at municipal water systems, and geologic and geochemical factors affecting the quality of Wisconsin groundwater. Madeline joins us to discuss the basics of groundwater sources and common contaminants, as well as her work with municipalities and utilities related to lead contaminant testing.

Kevin Masarik is a Groundwater Education Specialist at UW Stevens Point. His work focuses on groundwater and drinking water quality in areas served by rural residential well water systems, and understanding the relationship between land uses and water quality. Kevin also helps maintain and educate the public on the UWSP’s Well Water Quality Viewer. Kevin will focus on what contributes to the condition of water from private wells, approaches to well water quality monitoring and sharing of results, and how to use the Well Water Quality Viewer to understand and track the quality of water in your area.
