EARN Talks: Engaging on race: How EARN groups and EPI are documenting racial inequality, calling out systemic racism, and what more we can do

We invite you to join us next Wednesday, February 26th at 1:00 PM ET for a 1-hour webinar/discussion, Engaging on race: How EARN groups and EPI are documenting racial inequality, calling out systemic racism, and what more we can doIn this videoconference, presenters from the Economic Policy Institute’s Program on Race, Ethnicity and the Economy (PREE), the DC Fiscal Policy Institute, Policy Matters Ohio, and COWS will present on some of the work they have done to document how systemic racism, disinvestment in black and brown communities, and discriminatory policies have led to deep racial disparities in their states and the nation. The presenters and organizers will then lead a moderated discussion of how EARN groups and allies can engage more effectively on issues of race and policies to advance racial justice. EARN members are well aware of the enormous racial inequality manifest today throughout the country. This webinar will provide examples of how these issues can be thoughtfully documented using data at the state, local, and national levels, and elevated in state and local policy discussions. We will also discuss how public policy can be used to lift up black workers and push back against these trends.
