Food on the Table, Workers at the Table – Watch the Video Roundtable

Last Thursday, COWS was invited to moderate a conversation hosted by Milwaukee Area Service and Hospitality Workers (MASH) and SEIU Healthcare Wisconsin. This event, Food on the Table, Workers at the Table, featured three workers: Anthony, a cook and union steward; Kate, an ER nurse; and Tammy, a CNA. The conversation also featured Dr. Michael Rosen. 

We are so thankful to the workers who shared their insights with us. The conversation ranged from the difficulty of caring for patients with dementia during a time of isolation; the important of unions in providing a voice for workers; the disproportionate impact of the economic crisis on Black and Brown Wisconsinites; the dangerous exposure to COVID-19 for healthcare workers despite no additional hazard pay; and more.
