Katya Spear

Katya Spear is a Senior Associate at High Road Strategy Center and the Managing Director of the Mayors Innovation Project (MIP). Katya has prior experience in reporting, public policy, sustainability, public engagement and local government. She received her BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from UW-Madison and a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability Leadership from Edgewood College. Previously, at Greater Wisconsin Committee, Katya worked to educate and mobilize Wisconsin residents on important issues related to health, economic development, and the environment. At High Road Strategy Center, Katya manages the Legacy Community Alliance for Health and publishes the Health and Equity in All Policies Alliance (HEAPA) newsletter alongside partners at UW’s Population Health Institute. For MIP, Katya manages the organization’s Steering Committee of current and former mayors, writes policy briefs, and creates immersive, policy-focused peer-learning experiences for US mayors.
